This is probably the dumbest Q ever, but I am looking to replace all four tires on my 2011 Prius three. An online search gave me two acceptable tire sizes: P195/65 R15 and P215/45 R17.

Can either of these sizes (all four tires changed at once, of course) be put on the same car? The 15s are cheaper but I currently have 17s on my car. I guess the 17s are wider and have better traction but I don't take corners like a speed demon and am looking moreso at value.

The Touring takes the 17 in while the run of the mill take the 15s. Some people have both sets. Maybe I will to..someday! lol!
Unless you buy 15 inch wheels your going to have to use the 17s

You can't put 15" tires on 17" rims. Since you have 17" now, That means you'd have to sell or swap your 17" for 15" rims. BTW, Prius 3 comes with 15" stock so double check your current tires. If you want to be ghetto you can do two fronts or two rears first.

Okay, I just have to ask the OP--how old are you and how many other cars have you ever bought tires for??? Second, don't scrimp on tires to save money. Buy quality tires, and for the Prius, buy low rolling resistance (LRR) spec tires.

His info says 39. By now it should have sunk in: 15" tires are tough to get on 17" rims, lol. Maybe just typing before the coffee kicked in.
