My 2015 Prius is over 20,000 miles and received an offer from my dealer about a ToyotaCare Plus offer. For $299.00, the package will cover the Prius recommended services for from 30k to 45k. When I took another car to a local shop, the manager at that shop said he would charge $200 for the 30,000 miles service alone. Is the $200 reasonable? If not, any recommendation in the central Orange County, CA area?
    Thanks.

There's no services needed other than oil changes, tire rotation at 30k and 40k. Even the ala carte full no discount price is only going to be around $150 for those 2 services combined

Thanks but there is the reason I post my question. The shop I take my other car to charges $50 for oil change if synthetic oil is used and tire rotation at Costco is $22-$25. 2 oil changes and 4 tire rotations will be about $200 + another $15 for cabin air-filter if I do it myself. Is $50 for a synth oil change on the high side?

$50 for genuine synthetic 0w-20 oil change is cheap. JiffyLube would charge you $79 or $89 and will try to upsell you tons of services

Walmart sells 5qts of Mobil1 for $25-$28 plus a filter would run you around $35 for parts only. So for $50, labor would only be $15.00. Why can't this oil change place rotate tires? No need to do the Costco thing.

you cabin and engine air filters need to be checked. usually, cleaning them is enough. so putting a price on it is difficult. of course, most places will just replace them and charge you.
i pay 90. for oil change, 20 for tyre rotation, so that alone is $240. throw in the filters and all the other inspections they are supposed to do, and it seems like a decent price.

30,000 through 45,000 service is two oil changes, a cabin filter ($20), an engine filter ($20) and four tire rotations. And "inspections," which are all visual.

The oil changes are probably $75 each -- $150, and $40 for the filters is about $190. So $300 seems pricey to me. Those two filter changes are totally do-it-yourself deals. No tools needed.

Most likely I will not purchase the dealer's extended care package. Because I have the solar validation option, the cabin filter is supposed to be cleaned at 10,000 miles and replaced at 20,000. Looking at the receipts for those service visits, I think they just follow schedule for Prius without solar option. Doesn't give me a lot of confidence they will do any of the inspection items on the schedule.

Toyota of HB has a coupon for their oil change at $43.95, you can take advantage of that deal and it's not too far from Newport. You might even take the coupon and bring it to your preferred dealer and they will match the coupon price.

Service & Parts Specials | Toyota of Huntington Beach

They have a great special on a transmission service, you can do that service for only $75 with coupon.

Thank you for the link. I am not from Newport Beach (I guess this website use my ISP's location as my location) but Toyota of HB is a good option. Will check their site when I need to have an oil change.
