I decided to finally push through to the end and do my window switches today.

I was a little surprised to find that these have a 3mm domed LED in them.

I just plonked in some of my last 1206's.

The driver's door is a completely different kind of thing.

Five 1206 LEDs will do the trick here.

I'm thinking: ready light, turn signals, dummy lights, ev/eco/pwr indicators

The Seat Heat buttons are new territory.

    upload_2016-5-16_23-10-2.png

These guys have LEDs that aim 90° to the circuit board.
    upload_2016-5-16_23-11-51.png

The trick to replacing these guys is using a Dremel with an etching bit, then gently grinding away the plastic, and being careful to leave the underlying rails intact.
    upload_2016-5-16_23-13-3.png

    Then solder in some upgrades!
    upload_2016-5-16_23-15-46.png

    Here is @bonchang's retrofit.

It is delicate work. But I think the head unit is the most difficult. The LEDs in the head unit are particularly tiny and there are 58 of them.

I'm browsing the net for some information for the multi color led. Is that a 5mm? Kathode or anode? I found some red-blue combination which (i think) is better than the green-orange combo.

It is 5mm. But I don't know anything more. Maybe we will get a chance to open one up on Saturday and gather more data.

I remember the ignition switch 3mm LED longer terminal to be the K so I'm guessing the 5mm dual color to have the center terminal, which is the longest among the 3 to be - .

Hey Dylan, is it PLCC-2 or 1206 for the solar roof cooling button?

I haven't seen one of those buttons yet. Is this it?
    upload_2016-5-20_16-1-14.png

All those buttons around the dash dimmer use a 1206 type LED.
