I don't know about USB specifically. I'm quite happy using the Bluetooth wireless audio connection with my Samsung Galaxy Stardust--a cheap Android smartphone provided by the cheap Tracfone service. The phone paired with the car with no problems. I spent $3.99 to buy a podcast app named Pocket Casts, $3.99 for a more-capable music player app named PowerAmp, and $30 on a 64 GB micro SD card to hold music. It all works well, and the audio screen and steering wheel controls work to start, stop, and advance to the next track. Something I really like is that if you turn off the radio or the car it stops the playback and saves your place. That might all be started with Bluetooth audio, I don't know. I do use the USB port to keep the phone charged. I haven't explored all the functionality, not by any means. I do recommend PowerAmp, it's far more capable than the built-in music player.
