Anyone know if you can get the TSS system installed after you get the car? I have a Prius C 4 2016 and I would have thought that the TSS system would have been part of the trim but I guess its not.

If not, that is just dumb! The C Four should have ALL the things for one and two, there is the little dead button where the TSS stuff would be. They should make it available.

Honestly, some of the TSS features should just be standard on ALL models/trims. Safer and more aware drivers makes for safer roads.

They will be, eventually....and a 2020 Yaris will go on sale for $33,000.00.

I can live with PCS, but I disagree that DRCC, LDA, and other "safety" systems make drivers "more alert".
In my never-to-be-humbled opinion these 'features' tend to allow drivers to further distance themselves from the crisp alertness that SHOULD be devoted to the driving task.

I hope to finish my driving years in that brief span of time where people who wish to avail themselves of the driver-less car MAY do so before some soulless bureaucrat compels fully-abled drivers to do so against their will.

Lol. On my escape one of the best features ( which isn't available on the C at all ) is the blind spot detector. Where if a car was in a blind spot this little light on the mirror would light up. Seems to be on a lot of SUVs . Would be cool to see it on a car like the C though. I heard though that there was a feature part of TSS ( think it was for the P version though ) where it would activate the breaks if you were about to hit something.

As a motorcycle rider, I can live with that feature. ;)

    Here's some info on TSS.

I'm sure that Toyota has a blind-spot detection system, but I didn't see it in the literature.

    Good Luck!

Ours has some sort of fixation for Hybrid Synergy Drive, any iteration of Prius, even Camry. Goes nuts if a Prius cab tools by. Holding him back with the leash, he'll end up up on his two hind feet, straining to go see it.

Probably he is sensitive to the frequency of the electronics on the Prius. Maybe you'll need to get him his own.

+1, I can always tell when a Toyota hybrid is near, it has a distinctive high frequency whine. That's probably what the dog is reacting to.

No. But given the previous statement, it sounds like either he thought it was included or doesn't know it's is offered and now wants it.

yes, i get the impression he thought it was included. unfortunately, too many people assume standard practice packaging when purchasing, without practicing due diligence.

No. First of all "he" is a "she" . :p Second, I was asking if its possible to have it installed. I am also saying that it is stupid that the C Four doesn't just have it by default vs having to add it as a "package".

Very unlikely. These kinds of features often require additional sensors and sometimes different wiring harnesses that have to be installed when the car is assembled. It could be very impracticable to retrofit a car without all the needed pieces.

I think people who don't want to pay for the feature would disagree with you. Cable television companies that try to bundle packages of channels together are essentially doing the same thing, and there's pretty widespread dissatisfaction with the practice.
