I remember the 2003 Honda forum when folks were running 90PSI:ROFLMAO::LOL:
I could not do 51 PSI without the car skipping.

    Walter, here are his attachments.

In California, the State Assembly was kicking around a bill that would tax hybrid drivers per mile driven. I guess the state is losing quite a lot of gas tax dollars at the pump... (and of courses our gas tax is already among the highest in the nation, 41cents?)

"California lawmakers are struggling to climb out of a deep hole. The gas tax that supports road repairs ranks among the highest in the country but the state has some of the worst roads in America.

A recent report from the state Senate said 68 percent of California roads are in poor or mediocre condition, the 44th-worst record in the nation. It also said the cost for all of the unfunded repairs identified by state and local officials in the coming decade is about $135 billion.

State lawmakers are now meeting in a special session to find several billion dollars for the most urgent repairs, possibly with a higher gas tax.

If more money isn’t found, “these roads will disintegrate to the point where they’ll have to be rebuilt, which is very, very expensive,” said state Sen. Jim Beall, D-San Jose, co-chairman of a special committee working on the issue."

Doing the right thing should not be penalized but rewarded. Too bad we don't have a train system like Europe and Japan. They need to tax people driving a SUV/Truck with no passengers or cargo off the road. 20 years before those are gone except for business purposes.

Glad to see a 4 Touring take the lead!

I am still at the left side of the curve but have done better each of the past three months than the preceding one as it warms up. For me, it's the first 10 or 15 miles on the highway that drags my average down:

    Question:

On a typical trip of yours, about how many miles do you need to drive before you reach 50 MPG on the display?

    Walter,
Mine had alloy 17' tires, front tires 40 PSI Back tires 38 PSI. Yes the on board still computes the average speed at this for miles beyond 700miles. I'm in Southern California, weather are perfect, not too cold nor not too hot.

    Usually 15 no problem
    Fast driving/rain/acceleration kills it
Slow turtle power is the game

I only recently discovered how to bring up the 2 displays, like Mr MPG posted. That's interesting.
Mine said I had an average speed of only 20 mph! And an EV ratio of 54%. And my mpg varies from 58 to 64 over two months of trips.

I don't get the "EV ratio" Is that the % of distance traveled, or some other measure? My former Prius c simply posted the number of miles traveled on EV in its data screen.

61% of 767 miles is 467 miles traveled on battery, average speed 19 mph ? . . . that sounds plausible. In any case 77.5 mpg? WOO HOO!!! Awesome.

They had proposed something similar in Illannoy but dropped it for the time being. A large part of what we see here is lack of accountability for quality, and lack of control over costs. If I get taxed by the mile, I want to be allowed to decide whether the guy holding the flag at the construction site deserves $45 an hour or not.
