It's $100/pair ...problem is the manufacturer is in China. Need some company to import it here

I've purchased several items directly from the manufacturer off of Alibaba. So far, no problems. It's like a Chinese ebay website.

Not sure how that contradicts mine. That's exactly why you don't use high beams in foggy conditions (or blowing snow for that matter).

Actually parking light and foglights (without low beam) works best because if it really is dense fog, you wouldn't be travelling that fast anyway so you wouldn't need low beams (low beams would still reflect and refract light but obviously not as bad as high beams)

Maybe I misunderstood your note. If so, my apologies.

I'm stalking this thread as I'm interested in replacing the fugly caps as well but likely don't have the skills to do an install myself. :(

I have found a potential solution. These LED accessory lights are made by TRUX (LED Lighting | Trux Accessories). I found these at Princess Auto. The price at C$12.99 is very reasonable. The question is will it make a nice fit? My car is two weeks old, not quite ready to take it a part. :(

Now, if we want to make them work, not just for show, we have to figure out the wiring. I did a quick, cursory look. It is not easy to get behind the blank bezels.

fog lights1.jpg The elongated units seem to fit over the existing blank plastic panel nicely.

    Other solutions are welcome.

Better of taking the vertical DRL approach since those things wont look stock in s triangular shaped hole. Lol. My opinion.
Or like I mentioned drill holes in the current blanking plates recesses circle areas and fit multiple small LED lights.

I am still considering these LED lights. I brought one home and laid it over the blank bezel (vertically!) over the three dimples in the black plastic. Not a bad fit, actually it would look OK. But because the bezel is just so slightly curved and the base of the light is flat - of course - I would have to apply some force, or make some "build up" to set it right - hm... not sure. As I said the car is still too new.

I can't even find anyone to quote me out on an install. What gives? Augh.

Could this be a temporary, cosmetic solution until we get fog lights

I obviosly did not do my homework. Was lead to believe that the fully loaded 4 had everything but 17" wheels.
Prius 4, Hypersonic Red, Harvest Beige, AW Floor Liners / Cargo Tray, ATP and PCP. (Long Boat Trip) Did not expect two gray blanks, need to fill that with some lenses.
Following this thread with hopes for a reasonable solution. All in time, I know...

BTW - this is our 4th Prius. Wife dirves the 2012 Prius, gave my 2008 to our daughter.

I ordered a set of OEM fog lights from Cool Toyota in Franklin,TN based on a previous post in this thread. About $200.00 each. The parts guy there assumed the version 3 I have was prewired. Not the case, btw. My 3 has ATP and sun roof. My dealership suggested a place, an after market installer they use and for $150.00 they installed the lights. They had on hand a small unobtrusive switch with a blue LED that fits perfectly with the interior for Gen 4. The switch is directly to the right of the hood release button. I returned the $40.00 Toyota toggle switch Cool sold me and the additional $90.00 OEM stalk switch which would have amounted to a lot more work and installation cost. I am located in Western Michigan. I think this is a viable solution for your fog light concerns. The fog lights look fantastic on the Midnight black of my car.

Congrats on the foglights CHC. I'm still waiting for some cheaper aftermarket. I just can't see myself spending $400+ for the pair of fogs. I can do the install myself just but just too cheap to spend the money on the OEM fogs. :)
