The Prius Club of San Diego continues to grow and have successful encounters. :) Saturday 7-24 we had 17 Prius in the caravan to celebrate the end of the Sierra Club Drive Across the Country. Over 20 members attended. 8) Sunday 7-25 we had 48 people with 30 Prius in attendance (including the 2 student-drivers from the Sierra Club) at our third Club meeting. 9 Prius stayed for the picture session down the road (see the Prius wanna-be in black & white that joined the group! in the pictures to follow). Member Henry Eisenson put on a fabulous presentation of Prius modifications that some have done and showed off accessories such as leather seats, side protector strips, pin striping, license plate relocation, etc. Everyone learned a lot and had a great time. We raffled off prizes kindly and generously provided by Coastal-e-tech and Henry and enjoyed an excellent lunch on the waterfront. :D The Prius were all parked in a roped-off parking area, making quite a sight for other diners.

Our next meeting is tentatively set for Sunday, September 26 at a place yet to be determined. Watch for further information or get on our mailing list at [email protected]

Hoping to get a group of people in San Diego who are interested to work on hybrid battery pack repair, sharing information, skill and help each other.

    I am interested !

Currently we are out in East County

After having such a swell experience with the 07 Prius , now with 193k and just picked up the holy grail , a 2012 Plug In Advanced a couple of weeks ago.

We allowed our 07 traction battery be 'switched' with refurbished but have been playing whack-a-mole ever since with it - we bought the newer car instead of nailing it down for good.

So very interested in sharing notes on identifying cells before they drop and solid vendors & techs ...have gotten better service from the 'bumper medics' with Prius parts than the dealership .

Great, I am in OB, have a 05 Prius, still determining the right tools and things to get before I start this project, still a few things to find out, like which "balancing charger/discharger" is better to get and how many would be good. I think along as there are more than 3 people, we can easily do some useful work. Will keep up the post.

I end up hire someone to do the fix after I exposed the battery(working on the sidewalk), at that point, there are a lot of parts taken out in the back and lots of screws, I knew I would have trouble keeping track of all the things. After seeing the mechanic fix my battery, i probably would messed up the heat sensors since some of the youtube videos didn't talk about it much, I get to watch the process, it was nice and saved me a lot of headache.
if you know a Prius that need to do some work, I will be glad to join.

    Hi folks,
My daughter lives in San Diego, she LOVES her 2008 Prius but she's having a few issues. I'm trying to find some help (honest, reasonably-priced hybrid shop, independent mechanic, Prius enthusiast?) for her so that she doesn't get gouged. Kindly have a look at San Diego area, help for young Prius driver | PriusChat and follow up there, here or via PM, if you have any thought. Any help much appreciated!
    Chris
