Looking to see if someone has removed the whole housing the blower motor attaches to. I found a mouse nest twice on top of the air filter and now have to take that housing out to clean it its has a ton of mouse pee in it and smells awful. i have attached a picture of the area and want to know if all i have to do is remove the three screws that i put a green arrow on. thanks in advance for any help. 20160517_200152 [166087].jpg

When i got mine.. it had the original filter at 80k miles. The blower was vibrating at higher speeds.. replaced filter and peaked inside the blower where a acorn had fallen in and causing it to be unbalanced.. Amazing what those things suck up

It looks like there are a few screws as well as several clips:

I bet it's tricky to reach them all in place. That diagram in the manual assumes you've already taken the whole heater unit out of the dash.

This might be one of those instances where you figure out that there's actually a way to do it in much less work than the manual shows ... that has happened in several cases before and is very helpful to PriusChat when someone figures it out.

Or, you might just decide to see how well you can scrub the inside without removing, maybe just taking the fan out and reaching in from above and below.
