If I had to guess, I would say that it is probably bedding down in the area of the traction battery. That thing stays warm for a long time after the car is powered down. Nice and warm.

We have all seen the movie "Snakes on a plane" but have you heard about this?

An Albany woman high on alcohol, life and maybe a little weed, crashed her Prius into a New Hyde Park firehouse last night while wearing a stolen python around her neck. And what did you do Monday night, nerds?

Sarah Espinosa, 22, was arrested after driving her environmentally responsible car over a median and into a Nissan Maxima before smashing through the fire station's front doors, slamming into two fire trucks, Newsday reports. As startled firefighters extricated Espinosa from the car, they noticed a small ball python—more petite than their other python counterparts—curled around her neck, freshly stolen from a local Petco.

Espinosa was taken to a nearby hospital where she was treated for minor injuries before being released. She has been charged with second-degree reckless endangerment, reckless driving, driving while intoxicated, unlawful possession of marijuana and petit larceny.

The snake was returned to Petco with one hell of a story to tell.

    Just a bit unclear.
The OP is not sure where IN the Prius the snake is located?
How long has the snake been missing?

You could end up dismantling the entire vehicle. There are a LOT of area's a snake could "possibly" be.
Plus if it's been day's...or longer...are you even 100% sure the snake is still in The Prius?
Just wondering how "vague" a search this is, or if the OP has confirmation or any idea exactly where the snake might be within The Prius.

One of the most unique "Prius" problems I can remember at Prius Chat.
Wish I had a better answer.

I wish the OP, his snake, and The Prius...all the best of outcomes.

Bzzap! wasn't the original poster though (and drives a 2012, not a 2010) ... I assumed that post was a joke. OR, we've had TWO escaped corn snakes in Prii.

Bzzap's snake NOT a corn snake. Looked like Holywood prop snake to me.
Trying to help, I do think we need to establish whether corn snake is still in the car. Otherwise, it would, have to be listed on the Carfax report if the car is sold because some folks really get upset about snakes oozing around your ankles while you are driving.
So, how about a trained "sniffer dog" to determine if snake is still there? Problem is I don't know if sniffer dogs have been trained to smell, out snakes.
Solution 2: "Romance"-->post a carefully secured snake of the opposite gender , maybe in the plastic tub above the spare tire. Then check periodically to see if the missing corn snake is coming out to make whoopee. Or if the OP patronizes full-service gasoline stations, he could just ask the attendant to "Fill it up with Regular and check the spare for snakes!"

1.) We all have to make a little sacrifice sometimes, and he's in there all night ready and alert.

2.) Corn snake = not poisonous.

No snake on earth is poisonous, but many can be Venomous.... FYI.

Sorry, I used to be way into snakes and at one point I had lets just say "many" beautiful setups in my house...

And thank god my green tree pythons and my tree boas were not venomous as if they were I'd be dead long ago. lol.

Where I live now (Pa) we have no restrictions on venomous snakes, yup you can own and keep black mambas and Cobras and they can be bought easily at any Pa Reptile show. I would never keep one but I would probably pick up a nice rear fanged (mildly venomous not too dangerous snake) in the future.

Finally did the OP ever find his corn snake?? I hope he does if he hasn't.

I guess this is a little OT, but WTH, I have a horrible fear of snakes, but with my kids, I always managed to hold my horror in check when we came across the various non-venomous snakes in the wild. My son and daughter have no fear whatsoever picking up rubber boas, garter snakes, etal.

Funny, I just confessed to them a couple of years ago about my terror and how much I almost *issed myself everytime I picked up a snake to show them they had nothing to fear. They are in their 20s now and were absolutely astonished that I hid my fear so well.

...and yet your avatar suggests you handle snakes on a daily basis. Good job keeping your trepidation in check and showing your kids to be fearless.
