Many thanks to Patrick Wong and to ANDREWCLAUS for the advice on the warranty enhancement. I could not reply directly to the original post on July 11th because there was a hyperlink in the response to me and for some reason entirely beyond me, because I'm a new member I have not yet accrued sufficient privilege to reply to such a post. Anyway... I took the car to the dealer on Thursday 14th July and within an hour or so they had diagnosed the issue as the one that the warranty covers. They didn't have the part needed and did not want me to drive home, so they gave me a loaner. It was not until the following Monday until the part arrived. It then took them until Friday to get the part installed and get the car fixed. I could not get to the dealer on Friday, so I picked it up today (Monday 25th). They told me on the phone that it now was showing warning lights related to HV battery failure (check engine + red triangle). These lights were not on when I took the car to them. Anyway, I drove the car away and it seemed to drive well enough. I was hoping that maybe they had inadvertently triggered the alarms while working on the car, and perhaps the ECU would dismiss the alarms as false after a few more starts. The advice sheet they provided says that DTC codes P0A80 and P3000 are present. My son is using the car this evening and just called to say that it has no power. I'm probably going to do a cell replacement in the next few days.

Yup, they come back. Sitting unused for a week or so is what got my '06 to trigger the PA080 code (dead HV battery). I had one bad module towards the middle portion of the pack that was well below the others.

If you're going to soldier on with the original pack and not get a new one, you might want to look into grid chargers.

Changed one cell in the battery today and got rid of the triangle, but now the ABS light and brake light are back on! Will be calling the dealer in the morning

Just got back from the dealer. One of the rear ABS wheel sensor connectors, located under the rear seat, had become unseated. Since I had much of the rear interior of the car, including the rear seat, disassembled yesterday to fix the battery, that one is down to me. The diagnosis and fix at the dealer cost about $130.
