    Agree with above.
Even my CT200h does this and it's normal. Mines basically a Prius underneath.

If I press the brake, the energy display shows the battery is still adding power to the wheels which fights against the brake, wasting energy!
What moron would design a car like this??
ALSO, it does this when the gas engine is NOT RUNNING.

It does this with the gas engine OFF, how do you explain that? Does your car do this?

sounds like you got a dud. but maybe toyota has no idea what they're doing.

mine doesn't do that, might be time for a trip to the dealer, while you're still under warranty.(y)

Seriously, questioning the hybrid design skills of Toyota? Hehe.... There's nobody that has got it more "right" or consistently so as Toyota, and frankly, I like Honda cars better overall.

What "energy display"? If I press my brake in "D" with the car and engine stopped, ScanGauge shows battery current drops to the same level it does in PARK. Therefore no battery energy is wasted in that condition "fighting against the brake."

Yes, of course the car creeps in READY in "D" with the engine stopped and brake released---just like every other automatic-transmission vehicle in its nearest equivalent to "READY." If it didn't, that would confuse and scare off potential owners during a test drive.

Yes, mine does, ICE on and ICE off. But either way, my Prius' creep is weaker than the creep of dad's automatic Jeep.

Are you sure the arrows aren't reversed and power is being transferred from the wheels to the battery? Actually it turns from orange to green, so you can't miss that.

If your car is doing adding power to the wheels at a stop and engine is not on, there's something wrong with your car. Take it to be looked at.

Agree with the point you intended, but to be more literal, it's mathematically and physically impossible to "add power to the wheels" while they are stopped. Power is torque times speed, so if speed of wheels is zero, power to wheels is zero, no matter how large the torque. That doesn't mean it isn't possible to waste power attempting to turn stopped wheels---as most conventional automatic cars do, and a Prius hypothetically could with a specific malfunction.
