Other than the color, are there anybtechnical differenxes betwen the ignition switches of a 2010 Prius Gen ||| Trim V and a 2012 PiP Advanced?

Plastics seem identical, harness clips seem inter-changeable. Will either car know if the ignitions were swapped?

I swapped out my 2010 Start button to one that is 2012 -2015 and it fit fine.

image.jpg image.jpg Not sure if this would be coincidence, and not wanting to experiment just yet by swapping them back.

2010 Prius started with a dashboard error - before the ignition swap. OBD2 reader is not picking up any errors.

Today (same day) the 2012 PIP started with a warning message - post ignition switch. Wondering if there mught be some extra connector in the wiring for the PIP?

Maybe it was the heat? Messages vanished on both vehicles within a day...cars are running fine. So weird.

Oh, and no did not notice any difference in terms of connectors or wires between the two.
