I have been having problems with rebooting (the most was 10 times in about 3 minutes) and music skipping when connecting with bluetooth. Entune installed and removed, the issue was the same. Deleted bluetooth connections and still the same problem. It happened with both my husband's and my iPhones. The only thing I could do was to disconnect the connection on my iPhone and reconnect and then all was fine but I had to do this every time I got in the car. Took my car in for the 10,000 mile service (yes, I drive a lot, 45 mile commute each way) and kept it there for the day so that they could troubleshoot the issue. They determined that the radio needed to be replaced which happened Monday. All seems fine since.

Are you being prompted to update through Entune or through the in-dash system itself?

After working flawlessly for more than 5 months an 15500 miles, mine re-booted at least a dozen times over the course of an hour drive this morning.

I have never received notice of, or attempted, any kind of update.

    I have the JBL option.

Uh oh. I better watch out then - not good news from ATHiker. Is there a way to reject changes in settings, or at least specify to ask first (I've not seen one) so that we can delay upgrade until its been out in the wild for a bit?

In my 2016 Prius 4, every once in a while, I see the infotainment reboot several times at start up. The most annoying thing is that the infotainment system loses some settings (such as map orientation preference, voice volume) when this happens. Has anyone asked their dealer or Toyota customer service about this reboot problem?

Yes, I have, I took it to the dealer and the area rep came down and updated the software.
All fixed, at least it has been perfect for the past month.

Thank you - I'll contact the dealer and report back the result.

Ditto. I have caught it once rebooting on startup (it rebooted two or three times before finally launching properly). The nav resets orientation. It's annoying.

Also the map view is also reset. Since I like the split screen setup with the directions on the right-half, that is also annoying since I can't actually trigger that until I actually have set a destination and route.

I wonder if we'd be able to download an update and do it ourselves instead of going to the dealership.

I noticed there's an update, but does it apply to a 2016 Prius. Sorry.. Can't post link since it's my first post :(

I was hoping that driving a 2016 Toyota Prius with a pet friendly license plate would keep me under the radar!

I had the identical problem that you described with my 2016 Prius Four. I called Toyota who said to visit a Toyota dealer. The dealer contacted Toyota who opened a TAS case. After waiting over six months for this problem to be corrected, Toyota created a software patch. I drove to the dealer so they could load the new software to correct this defect. Hopefully, Toyota will now fix your navigation system. I have posted more info on this and other 2016 Gen 4 electronic issues here: Did Toyota delete the mph/kph selection in the speedometer of your US 2016 Prius?

Me too, same problem, took mine to Kearny Mesa Toyota in San Diego, they contacted regional, set an appointment and the regional guy came down, did a software "update" and no problem anymore.

This is happening to me too. The "reboots" happen at startup most of the time, but I've had a few happen while I was driving ... the radio goes silent, the logo comes up, and everything comes back a short while later. It does reset my home screen preferences and things I've told "don't tell me this again" are reset as well.

I was prompted recently for a software update, and I allowed it hoping it would solve this. It didn't, and created another problem for me ... now my iPhone 6s Plus won't play music via USB. Bluetooth still works, but trying anything via USB results in a message saying, "Connection Error ... please see your owner's manual for instructions on connecting the iPod." (sic)

I contacted Toyota, who just told me to take it to my dealer. My dealer did a hard reset which made no difference at all and then told me to contact Toyota.

I'm pretty ticked off about this, honestly. The software in my earlier Prii was quite reliable. This is pure trash.

I had the same issue ScottyJNC. I know it is frustrating when the Toyota dealer tells you to call Toyota and then Toyota says to call the dealer because they are not technicians. When the dealer says to call Toyota, consider using your cell phone and call Toyota from the dealer.

My navigation system rebooted multiple times while driving. This made my navigation system useless and was very distracting. After waiting over six months for Toyota to fix their software, I was mandated to download a mandatory update which now makes Pandora not work correctly. Twice last week, I visited a Toyota dealer to attempt a repair on this and other software issues but, this Toyota dealer will not create a repair order. They claim they do not have a remedy to fix the software controlled issues so there is no point in writing up a repair order.

After six months of experiencing navigation and entertainment system reboot problems, Toyota updated their software. I had to drive to a dealer for the dealer to install the repair software. That solved the reboot problem in my vehicle. However a mandatory download a few weeks later caused Pandora to malfunction in my 2016 Prius. I attempted to repair at a different Toyota dealer. This dealer said there was no remedy currently available.

I just bought my Prius 3 5 days ago, and today the Entune II radio rebooted twice on me. Nice to know I'm not the only one, if it happens again I'll go bug the dealer about it.

Ugh, it happened 4 times on my 5 mile drive home from work. Have an appointment tomorrow for the dealer to check it out.
