The button on the handle has a switch in it where if the lock that holds the handle doesn't seat all the way, the light won't come on. Every once in a while, I have to fiddle with it, so the lock seats properly.

co-worker just charged his PIP at the same stations today. Must be my car. Trip to the dealer to figure it out in my future. Thanks to all for the helpful suggestions.

PS - the station is the Clipper Creek DS-100

Upon re-reading it became apparent that this thread is isolated to Clipper Creek. I read the other stations as not necessarily Clipper Creek, but re reading it, I see they were other CC stations. Oops. My apologies.

have you solved your problem? I have a similar issue.

I recently bought my 2013 PIP. I can charge with no problem with my home socket. But when I try to charge from public stations via Mennekes plug it does not work - well it worked just once, on the 3rd attempt or so.

I got two different cables with my PIP. The home cablewith the "box" on it. And a Mennekes cable without a box on it. I dismantled the Mennekes cable and checked it via voltmeter. All the cables and resistors seem fine.

Could the cable be faulty anyways?

The Toyota dealer doesn't have a cable like this and they don't have a Mennekes charger to try it. I was a bit surprised, is this normal?

Are there two charging circuits in the car? Does any body have an explanation what could be wrong with my car? Is it even possible that it's not a faulty cable but something wrong in the car?

If the EVSE cable that came with your car works, then the car works. There must be something odd happening with the Mennekes equipment. But any J1772 EVSE cable should work if it is connected to a circuit that can supply the right voltage and amperage.
