Last time in Sears we were looking for vacuum bags. For starters, they use to have a vacuum cleaner area, dedicated to machines and accessories. That was gone.

We did find a motley collection of bags on a peg board shelf, but not the ones we needed. Asked a salesman if they could get them in, or if another store might have stock they could transfer.

He suggested we just get them on Amazon, which we did.

Gorsch. It has been a long time since I have been in British Columbia. I stopped going once they started requiring passports.

My last trip was to Vancouver, the island, not the city. Stayed on Lake Shawnigan. Terrific week.

Anyway, probably not be going back again in this lifetime, since I refuse to pay for a passport (I also refuse to pay for USA's TSA PreCheck).

Although the way things are going, I think they may start requiring passports to go from state to state in the USA pretty soon....

Wasn't Sears part of, or called, or related to Hudson Bay stores for a bit?

I don't think so. Hudson's Bay was tied in with Zellers for a while. They folded? Sears has American roots?

I believe we (the U.S.) started that requirement, not they (Canada). The Canadians matched it just to make sure visitors from the U.S. could get back into the U.S., without getting stuck in Canada.
There are some times that I prefer to use my passport card (not the bulky book passport) instead of a state drivers license. The former is not just proof of ID and age, but also right to be and to work in the U.S., while showing less personal information commonly used by the data miners and other nosy folks. (Note that the passport card is not good for international air travel, just surface border crossings to Canada / Mexico / Caribbean.)

Also, an enhanced drivers license is also a passport card, for not much extra charge, though it doesn't serve the reduced info function.

TSA Precheck is too much money for too short coverage. Other passes for frequent travelers have lower prices and longer valid terms.
