That's what the youtube video gear heads say. I suppose it could be verified in the manual. I'll use them for that purpose.

Joke - other co-members may know for sure but I thought those clips were for dungeon/ bondage use.

More than likely for attaching the accessory nets to hold groceries et al.
Only other possibility is you are talking about the clips for a child safety seat tether.
Check your owner's manual about tethers.

Yep. To supposedly hang grocery bags on. I bought the cargo net, and that works great for all kinds of stuff.

They also can be used to support the floor (Deck Board) when you open it to access the area underneath it. See page 533 of the manual.

Don't know. Those hooks are pretty small. But that's what I read.
I like putting my grocery bags in the "envelope" cargo net. But only 3 or 4 fit.

You ask the voice interface to spell "the".

... an obscure reference to the hangman game I used to play when I was a kid...

I haven't found the grocery clips to be all that useful myself. I tried a variety of bags and since I have a spare tire, I guess they don't adequately hang down far enough to actually be useful since there isn't that much hook to them to hold the bag in the hook. I dont have a cargo net and I guess its an excuse to drive extra slow on the way home.

That's a good description of the hooks, rob. They are pretty small. Here's a photo of the cargo net. If anybody's interested, it's $49 in the Prius Chat Shop. It's thick, and very good quality.

FYI - I bought one of these Stayhold devices at Home Depot when they were on sale and it comes in real handy.

Saronian, I really like this idea. Unfortunately I just bought the all weather cargo mat for my car. I'm always however looking for neat things like this and will have to remember about this for christmas gifts for others. Also thanks for the cargo net idea, I might have to pick one of those up!

The 2016 cargo net is exactly the same as the cargo net I bought 11 years ago with my 2005 Prius. It even has the tag with the red Toyota logo. I agree; they are great quality. Nothing has broken or ripped yet. I removed the net a month ago because I noticed it got in the way when I wanted to load stuff in the trunk.

i find the cargo nets cumbersome, and usually put them aside. i can fill the hatch with groceries, without things tipping over. if i have a bag or two, i put them behind the front seats.

My net actually looks better than the one in the pic I posted. Mine goes all the way across. Anyway, my 2 or 3 measly little grocery bags fit in the net.

On a different subject, I think I had my cargo cover installed backward all this time... the flexible one on the Gen4... Is it supposed to lift WAY UP when the hatch is open? Or only part way, like I had it? (The strings are different lengths on opposite sides.)

Ours came with the cargo net, our salesman actually demonstrated how it works, on our first test drive in a demo. Never used it though. Just stuff things in there, make sure everything's tight against the seat back.

The 4 loop steel hoop tie downs are for straps. I use them all the time. Never use the hooks.
