My 2004 Prius with 280,000 miles has been diagnosed with a high voltage leak... Is there anything the "I" can do about it?

Where is the voltage leak? If it's the battery, then it's simply replacing the battery

Check all of the cables and connections. If you find a loose one you've found the leak.

Thanks, I'm checking connections... Also, I see some corrosion on some of the battery terminals for the individual battery packs, thought I would clean that off as well... This car has been sitting for about a year, with everything disconnected, will the HV battery hold a charge for a year? If not how does one charge it?

If this is a 2004 battery pack that's been sitting for a year, chances are it has lots of modules that have failed. For sure it's out of balance.

Best way is to get a grid charger and charge and balance the pack back up......after replacing all the failed modules.
