Which OBD2 readers will work for a Prius? Will Dr Prius or Torque software show me engine codes? Brake codes? Or do I need the Techstream software?

Get one of these for $20 to keep in your glove box: Panlong OBD2 Scanner Bluetooth OBDII Diagnostic Tool Car Code Reader Turn Off... | eBay You'll be able to use car scanner app and Dr. Prius app to handle most stuff so you're less likely to be stuck waiting for a tow truck... Then buy a cheap mini-VCI dongle, which usually comes with a cracked version of Toyota techstream software for all the other stuff.

As for brakes, Techstream is good, but when driving if you need to read blink codes and clear them by connecting these two pins with a stiff wire. So you'll want to keep that wire in your glovebox too: Blink (a/k/a Flash) Codes – How to. | PriusChat
