I don't disagree with your concerns but to rule out otherwise a good car forever because of tire availability is ignorant. Go ahead and get the Camry Hybrid or something from Hyundai Kia.

This (ignorant) does not really need your condescending advice on going ahead with a Camry Hybrid or else . I will stick to my 2022 Prime for now;)

Yeah that’s easy enough: buy a $40k car, then cobble a spare (plus scissor jack and lug nut wrench), swap out the rims and tires.

    Ha ha, exactly. ;)

Gen 4 Prius Prime and Gen 5 Prius Prime have identical overall (76) and road-test (78) scores on Consumer Reports. However, Gen 5 costs a lot more. The main reason to upgrade to a Gen 5 would be to upgrade from TSS 2.0 to TSS 3.0 or to upgrade to a 50%-longer BEV range. But then, Gen 5 is a downgrade in interior and cargo space and visibility; so, be aware of what you are getting yourself into—literally.

All that is optional, nobody is forcing anyone to put together an emergency kit. Cars without any spares isn't anything new.

What is also not new are cars that are optioned in a way that doesn't please everyone. I'd love to have a car that can be equipped completely a la carte. That just isn't reality and it hasn't been for a long time. Nobody forced that owner on buying a XLE or Limited. You could have easily bought an LE if sidewall was a priority.
