Does anyone know what's happening with the '23-'24 Prius?

they have sold more to date than last year. where are they? idk. hard to pick out because they aren't unique anymore?
on recall sales hold right now.
i picked up a bolt last fall, 320 mile range estimate (i get 400 due to local driving) but they are building a new factory and won't be available this year.
we also got a '24 hycam, (had to order and wait) similar to prius price and 50 mpg.

 

I've seen a couple on the road here in the Pikes Peak region. Colo Spgs didn't have any in stock, so we drove up to Denver to try one on for size, and it was a huge disappointment, interior-wise. So much smaller than Gen 4. Door openings so much smaller and not any better once squeezed inside. Would not be able to live with one. I would be interested in seeing the Crown instead.

My point was the Crown is bigger than the Prius and should be more comfortable. The Avalon was actually much bigger than the Camry, was on a different platform and came with a 6-cyl engine for awhile. It was known as the "geezer pleaser" because of its size and comfy ride. A better example of a "gussied-up" Camry would be the Lexus ES models. They're directly based on the Camry platform.

 

The Avalon was bigger than the Camry, at least inside, but I'm pretty sure they used the same platform. Camry also had a V6 option. While bigger, the Avalon was still in the midsize class. The ES was closer to the Avalon.

Inside, the Crown 'sedan' is the same volume as the Camry, and the new Camry hasn't grown there.

 

It might have something to do with the fact that the worlds in a hot mess right now

 

There is a "stop sell" on the gen5 Prius due to a gasket on the rear door handle that may leak under certain circumstances. If it leaks the rear passenger door might short out and (in some cases) open of it's own accord. It's a shame that this will tarnish the reputation of the car.
