I am the original owner - 07prius no major issues, 207,000 miles mostly HWY. Lately if the kids leave the AC or lights on when we start the car we get the red triangle -n0 biggie we turn the lights off and she starts. Today my son was on the hwy, and had to slow down suddenly (but did not slam) the brakes to avoid an issue. The red triangle flashed but also "PROBLEM" popped up on the nav screen. The car never shut down and as soon as it appeared it disappeared. Any ideas?

get it scanned to see if any codes are stored and test the 12v battery. is it the original 12v battery?

Perfect I like 3 figure fixes. I was hoping that the battery was the problem, but thought it may be bigger because of the "PROBLEM" verbage that showed up on the computer.

well, we don't know for sure, keep your fingers crossed. it certainly is a potential culprit at 7 years old.

    1. Replace the 12V battery now.
    2. Check the engine oil level using the dipstick.
