Actually, that center console "thing" is starting to grow on me...
It looks like it has some sort of storage hole, and there is a tray thing down underneath, with a 12-volt and something else, right there... rather than over by the passenger's feet (dumb place, IMO).
I'm just wondering where the coffee cup holders are? Come on, Toyota, show us the really IMPORTANT stuff! :D

Oh, and I think that the tail lights look cool, too.

Thanks Danny. I've never laughed so hard. The aspect ratio is wrong on the pics and video (look at the wheels). The car looks hilarious when scrunched length ways like that.

There -is- more info on the dash display and controls in there. Lots of new stuff on the dash.

the gallery is broken i can't see any thumbnails, but i can click on them to see the
    pictures

They should be fixed now. Thanks for the heads-up.

I corrected the aspect ratio from 4:3 to 16:9.

i'm confused by image 5... most bumps like this seem to end up being washer units. It almost looks like a reflector of some sort in image 5. maybe... since the lowbeams are focused, that mirror pops up for high beam reflection? a new twist on our current setup?
  7. TonyPSchaefer
I think they are washer units. The picture looks funny but it might just be a play with the light.

Notice how they have integrated the rear spoiler into the body now. No longer looks added on.

notice image 2 (& 12) shows the Consumption display while in 3 (& 13) it's replaced with the Energy display.

The shots are really blurry, but I couldn't identify an "EV" indicator light...anyone see anything?

i like the picture outakes now~thx danny

In image #3, what is that number behind the Prius? It looks like 1032. Is it the Time? 10:32 PM? First I thought that's engine RPM but then it would be near the gas engine icon.

I finally got more time to look at these. It is becoming harder to resist upgrading....

It is Awesome. Where do I put my deposit down.
  13. Picasso Moon
I don't know what it is but in one of the videos it changes from 1032 to 1033. Time would be my guess but it could be a digital tach seeing that it is next to the picture of the car.
  14. Tideland Prius
    Yeah it's the clock

I see a green light that looks like "ICE ON"

Here are my obs (some copied from the old thread)

    1. The POWER button is back in the normal place
    2. There's a square thing (button?) with 3 smaller squares (for lights?) that is to the left of the volume knob in the picture with the steering wheel. I have absolutely no idea what could possibly be put to the left of the volume knob
    3. The mini MFD found in the TCH and HiHy is now a larger version with the shape of the car (in this case the Prius) between the clock and the shifter position. It also houses the Consumption Screen too.
    4. I can't make out the two words on either side of the front wheel on the mini Energy Monitor. Edit: I think the one on the right is the outside temperature gauge. Still don't know the what the one on the left says
    5. There's a weird pictogram on the silver button. Seemed like there was something around the hood or windshield area of the pictogram
    6. Headlight washers mean that the LED or HID option will be available in Europe (where headlight washers are mandatory if the vehicle is equipped with HIDs). Whether we'll get headlight washers as well will remain to be seen. I just hope it's not tied to the windshield washer action.
    7. There are two extra buttons in the wheel - TRIP and DISP. This means that the odo/trip odo button is now on the wheel instead of that small button next to the km/h/MPH button we have now (rheostat for other countries). TRIP probably toggles the mini MFD between Energy Monitor and Consumption Screen
    8. There's a green light above the speedo, between the two circles. ICE ON is what I see.... maybe someone else sees a different word
    9. Nothing new in the warning lights.. SRS airbag, BRAKE (which means it's a US-spec car that's shown), EPS, door ajar, battery, check engine, ABS malfunction and VSC malfunction.
    10. The interior looks a tad wider (spacing between the seats and the golf bags)
    11. The underfloor compartment remains
    12. The steering wheel button images on the speedo illuminate when you press the corresponding button

I stopped it after 30s thinking their was nothing new, just what we had seen before set to music. Then I saw a few of the captures... very cool new shots of the dash, definitely answers a lot of questions! The panning shots although a little bouncy give a lot more sense of the car than the captures, its definitely improved my opinion of it.

    A few thoughts:

    - Some one asked why it didn't match the official Toyota speedo shot. I'm pretty sure the car is not running, but in ACC or POW ON mode. The spot where the speedo would be is dark, only the "MPG" is showing, and probably only lights up when the car is in READY mode. This would be consistent with the view of the energy screen showing the battery with no bars, and most of the warning lights being on.

    - As to where these came from, it seems pretty clear they are from someone working on the set of a photo shoot. As to how they got the shots and got them out, there are a couple of possibilities. One is they were shot during the copious down time that occurs on most sets discretely with something like a camera phone or small pocket cam. More likely in my mind is that they were "leaked" intentionally as part of their viral marketing campaign. The aspect ratio problem, and low res make me doubt that a little bit, but also seem like the kind of thing that someone would think of doing to make them appear more amateur/leaked. Fuzzy/low rez shots of the whole car seem like an obvious compliment to their "official" higher res mini-detail shots.

I think you are right, but its really fuzzy. If so that would be pretty cool, as you'll notice this is directly above the speedo read out. So within that small space straight ahead you'll be able to see speed, inst mpg, and whether or not the ICE is running.
  18. GreenWithEnvy
wow! I think I'll wait for it.
  19. Tideland Prius
but at the same time I would think ICE ON will not be a green light. Green light most likely means fuel efficient mode. Hmm.... ICE OFF? Maybe for PHEV mode (i.e. like "EV" for EV Drive Mode)
