Exactly how much oil needs to be replaced when changing the oil? I read 3.7 qts, but want to be sure.

    Thanks!

I use 3.5 quarts, puts it just below the "full" mark.

With my 2004, 3.3 litres will put the oil on the Full dot.

I refill with exactly 3.1 quarts on the nose.

Who wants to go for 2.9?

3 quart bottles is most convenient. This puts the level near the halfway point, which is perfectly fine.

    You've asked two different questions:
"How much does it hold" is the post title--that answer is 3.9 quarts. However, probably due to residual oil in the system, putting that much in will almost always put you over the 'max' mark on the dipstick.

3 to 3.5 quarts is good for oil changes. As suggested, put in 3 quarts at the dealer and top off, if necessary, when you get home.
