    Hi All,

I'm looking for someone to trade tail lights. I have modified mine by tinting them red. They look great as you can see in the picture.

Even trade for good condition factory, un-modified lights from a 2006 ->.

Local trade preferred for easy transaction.

If shipping is required for trade, the reciepient will pay for shipping both ways. Along with a refundable deposit of $200. Deposit will be refunded, minus shipping charges, once I receive factory/un-modified tail lights.

If your interested please PM me.

    Thanks

    Johnny

I really like those tail lights. Too bad I am selling my Prius, otherwise I would trade you for them.

Hey sorry to dig up an old thread... but I've become interested in tinted lights lately. How did you tint yours - are these from the same site Bino got his? (rvinyl?)

    macmaster05,

Yup. That's right. $0 on both ends. This is strictly a trade for your stock/un-tinted lights for my tinted ones.

I can help you install too. only takes about 5-10 minutes each side.

Ok it almost seems too good to be true. Therefore I have a few questions for you, mainly why do u want my stocks so badly. Is there something wrong with them? Legal issues? Warranty claim issues? Did you tint them yourself or buy from a place like Sigma Automotive (Ive seen them there).

Thank you very much in advance. :)

    macmaster05,

No funky business here. I've had these lights on for about a year and took them off. No legal, warranty issues, the clear portions still show a white reverse light and a yellow signal. I've never been stopped by police.

The reason whey I require a trade of stock lights, is that i want to create a smoke color set.

    Thanks

    Johnny,

Thanks for the info. Still, did you tint yourself or buy them?

Personally I would prefer smoked taillights over red, like you're currently going for - but I do believe THIS is illegal...? KIT

    sfv41901,

I'm willing to ship them but we need to work out some guarantee.

    macmaster05,

    I tinted these lights myself.

    But, i prefer the smoke.

    Let me know.

I'm going to turn this down since I'm not completely sold on the red look and I've always liked the clear look. Really good offer though.

Still, I think smoked taillights/headlights are illegal in CA. Are ANY tints on the lights legal?

    No worries, thanks for considering.

I think you are right about the smoke lights being illegal.

But in this case, the red tint might be a different story. The areas that are tinted red, are also the areas where it lights up red. I also remember when many of the BMW owners would purchase replacement tail lights without the amber/orange color.
