2007 Headlight and Taillight outage-Halogen lights

    I replaced both headlights a few months ago. Last week the left headlight and left taillight burned out. Is there anyone out there that has experienced this problem or is this just a fluke?

    There has been a similar report or two here. I don't recall if the result was reported back. First thing is to check the 12V system voltage. If it is too high, then you will see reduced life of the lights. Then to check the ground connections for the lights, and make sure they are tight. If loose, the intermittent power can cause spikes that will likewise reduce life span.

    I had a problem with both headlights burning out just a couple of months after they had been installed. I figured that the GE replacement bulbs were bad. The replacements from Sylvania have been just fine.
