Is it true that the 2009 Prius will get 90mpg?

And the newer 2008's will have the same battery as the 2009 so they will also get an average of 90mpg?

    I would love to know!

    Thanks

No, it's not true. They 2009s are a carry over from the current model.

i dont think the 2010 will even get 90mpg unless its a plugin...

But in April of 2009 the redesigned 2010 model is scheduled to come out. What this redesign actually contains is under some speculation. Toyota has some plug-in Priuses that they have in test fleets, but their statements seem to suggest the next model Prius will not be a plug-in, and perhaps a different hybrid will be the first plug-in. The 2010 Prius is expected to be slightly bigger, with a slightly bigger engine and slightly better gas mileage. (Not 90 mpg, although under near-ideal conditions and very careful driving you can do that with today's Prius).

The OP asked about the 2009 model, not the 2010.

    I've got a 2004 that gets me 71mpg. I suppose I would appreciate a small bump in mileage. :D
