2010 Generation 3 Prius coming off the production line in April 2009 - expect it in dealerships May

    There have been a lot of rumors on the release date of the 2010 Prius, but I got my hands on a Toyota document confirming that the 2010 will be "Line-off April 2009". So, I would expect to see it in dealerships in May (if not April).

    More scoops are coming today!

    I am #1 on the waiting list for the Prius and I am #1 on the waiting list for the Honda Insight. I am glad they are coming out at the same time. It is going to be a tough decision.

    I can't wait to see it on my dealer's lot! Hopefully they won't be sold out that I can actually inspect one. That would be about the time for my 40k maintenance.

    Keep in mind that regional variations will occur, causing different timing at different dealers. Delivery depends on physical shipping and packages. Also, we may be fortunate enough to have a pioneer rollout as well.

    Whatever the case, June looks to be a safe bet for the owner reports to start pouring in. That's sweet. I was hoping it would resemble what happened for Camry-Hybrid.

    Those closest to Long Beach, CA will have first dibs again. That's kinda why those of us who bought from Carson Toyota had the best chance 5 years ago.

    I would agree June or July. As Toyota has been late in delivery when I was interested in 2005 Highlander, then the Sienna, then the 2007 Prius, then the Camary Hybrid, okay I finally bought a 2007 Prius. Then the Sienna again, okay I finally bought a 2008 Sienna but I wanted a Hybrid.

    Well, I'll say this. Some of us might be taking delivery as early as May :)

    Not sure about international dates - hopefully we'll find all of that out on Monday.

    Wait, this might be the answer to my question. I don't know how accurate it is but according to this, the Prius is coming out in Australia during June and the Insight at November. And yeah, hope this proves to be true on Monday so at least I can finally get a good night's sleep after June.
