We got our first four 2010 Prius' two days ago. One of them is going to stay here as a dedicated demo....it is a 1225 with the Sunroof / AC package and Navigation........ THIS ONE IS NOT FOR SALE!!!

If you have been dying to see or drive one please feel free to come by any time......

You can schedule a test drive by responding to me here at Prius Chat...

I wish they had a dedicated forum for dealers...

Still not for sale.....think of all the cars we can sell by actually being able to show you one. I would much rather take an additional 20-30 orders than take $2000 over sticker on one unit....

How about $10,000 over sticker ???:D:D No just kidding. You are a smart man by having a demo on site. A local dealer did this with the 2008 and 2009 Prius for the same reason. Nothing is more disappointing to a potential car buyer then seeing a car ad and then going to the dealer to see the car and not be able to sit in or drive it.

Nice to hear that dealers will have demo units on sale. One of the main reasons I didn't buy a Gen II earlier was the inability to take a test drive. The trust me - you'll love it from the car salesman wasn't enough to convince me.

    Jon,

    How is $300 over "invoice" a rip-off?

$300 wouldn't even cover the dealer's advertising fee that it's required to pay to the sales region.

And who is selling a 2010 at $300 over "invoice"?

I was part of the 2010 Prius Priority Pre-Order program, and I can tell you that even we were not offered a price of $300 over "invoice".

    so much miscommunication going on!

the dealer said he would rather keep the demo than even sell it for 2K over msrp, because having the demo generates multiple future sales

then the other guy said "2,000 over msrp - what a rip" even though the dealer guy did not say he did that or would do that

then the other guy said he meant he paid 300 over invoice, which i suspect is untrue - (and he doesn't have the car yet because of the lack of a cert of origin - from the other thread i just read)

    Jon,

Then are you saying that you're actually paying $300 over "invoice"?

If so, who is your dealer and what are the details (Prius model #, option packages, other options)?

When you say "invoice" do you really mean "invoice" or are you referring to the MSRP Sticker Price?

If you really are paying $600 under "invoice" then provide the details (price, Prius model #, option packages, other options)?

I think both jon and you may be confusing invoice for MSRP?

    Jon,

I'll be interested to hear what you eventually pay. I don't doubt you, but I doubt dealers. The link you posted shows the msrp of package II as $23k. I thought it was $22k ? Perhaps the dealer has inflated msrp in order to give you a discount ?
