How do we know it is even a hybrid?

Not 100% sure that the spy photo is of the specific hybrid model, but the standard and the hybrid RX look 98% similar. And who can tell under all that camo.

Ya, the badges are covered up and we can't look under the hood neither.

Update: Just received word from our tipster that you are seeing 2 different Lexus SUVs. 1 is the next RX model and the other is a yet-to-be-announced small Lexus SUV that will compete with the BMW X3. It will be based on the RAV4 and is said to be powered for the US market by a 3,5 litre V6 engine, for Europe an additional V6 2,5 litre Diesel engine is in the pipeline.

I believe this might be the first spy shot of the new Lexus small SUV.

Interesting... The top one has lights on the rear bumper. It doesn't look much smaller than the RX.

isn't it going to the RX450h?

Anyway, it's not gonna be much different. Just a more sloped rear window and changes to the grille/lights. I don't know how the interior is going to be.

It is the same vehicle. They extended the rear 'spoiler' a bit and added near vertical plastic window. Changed the rear lighting.

To me, the vehicles look like the same vehicle, just with different camouflage on them. On the hybridchat website, they say that this is a new Lexus hybrid, but isn't it the new Toyotoa Venza?

ja.... that looks like the Venza 4 cylinder with the 19" alloys to me. I'm not sure why it's still camouflage (unless it's an older picture). Also Toyota said they won't be making a Venza Hybrid (why?) for a while until they can see that the vehicle is a success.

Doubt it. It was rumoured to have a V8 but I don't see the point. Even the Murano and MDX have been kept with V6s and a V8 would kinda defeat the purpose of the 450h.
