2010 Prius Owner's Manual Available on PDF

I've always liked to have available to me a PDF of the Owner's Manual. With a PDF I can do word and phrase searches and find what I'm looking for a lot quicker than searching the hard copy of the Owner's Manual where searches can be frustrating because of bulk (the 2010 Owner's Manual is over 600 pages), poor organization and poor indexes.

The Toyota Owners Online site has the Owner's Manual available on PDF. But it breaks the 2010 Owner's Manual into 30-something little PDF files -- one for each section, subsection, etc. -- which makes it a pain to do word and phrase searches.

Having the entire Owner's Manual on one PDF file is much better -- you can do a word or phrase search of the entire manual's 600+ pages very quickly -- just click on the "next" arrow to find the next place the word or phrase appears.

If anyone would like a copy of the 2010 Prius Owner's Manual - United States & Canada Edition on one PDF file, send me a PM (private message) WITH YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS and I'll try to get it to you within 24 hours.

Note that I'm willing to do this only for the next week or so.

EDIT 1: I'll be making deliveries once a day at around 12 midnight (eastern time). On any given day, if you PM me your email address by 11:30 pm (eastern time) that should be timely enough to make that day's midnight deliveries. If not, then it'll make the next day's midnight deliveries.

EDIT 2: If I'm at my computer and the number of requests reaches critical mass, I might make deliveries before midnight.

If despite your diligent efforts to follow the instructions in Posts #19 and #20 of this thread, you are unable to download the PDF yourself, then you may send me a PM (Private Message) with your email address, and I'll send you an email link with which you can download the Owner's Manual PDF.

EDIT 5: If you would like a PDF of the 2010 Prius NAVIGATION Manual that PearlieGirl created, then send me a PM (Private Message) with your email address, and I'll email you a copy assuming that your email system can accept a 10 mb attachment (if it cannot, then I'll email you a link with which you can download the Navigation Manual PDF).

You can (I think tumbleweed and others have done it) download the Navigation Manual from Toyota Owners Online. But like the Owner's Manual, it's broken up into multiple little PDFs, so it's a PITA to download. Probably easier to have someone email you all the little PDFs.

Then you'll have to stitch the little PDFs together into one PDF, which I understand is easy to do if you have Adobe Acrobat or some later Mac OS.

Then it'll be good to make it available to the masses.

I got it! Thanks for doing this.
Now I have something to read while waiting for delivery later this month. The manual has been at the top of my indian summer reading list.

As Boo doesn't have a convenient place to simply host the manual,
and Toyota hasn't stepped in and told anyone to cease and desist,
we've talked about it a little and I've put a copy up for grabs to
help ease the distribution workload. Go here to start, and use
the obvious hint to add the correct filename and download away.
You should wind up with a PDF of size 33,065,317.

This is not directly linked because we'd rather that the spiders
don't find it. A very small bit of human ingenuity is required to
get the goodies, and that's just fine. DO NOT LINK the file directly
via this site or any other, because its name is going to change
periodically and you really don't want to scatter broken links
around the forums. If I see hints in the web-log over there of
any automated processes grabbing the thing, availability will be,
shall we say, somewhat hampered.

I thought about offering versions compressed in various ways, but
that only reduces it to about 27 Mb because a lot of the data "blobs"
inside the PDF are compressed formats already. Not worth the extra
storage and support overhead.

In other words:

1. Click on the link above (or just click here), which should open up to a white page with one line of text on it.

For example, the one line of text might read:

010 prius owners: pc_OM_1234.pdf [do not bookmark or link externally, pls]

2. Find the correct file name in the middle of that one line of text. Note that the correct file name will change from time to time as hobbit said in Post #19. However, the correct file name should end with ".pdf" and be located between the colon ":" and the open bracket "[".

Thus, in the above example of one line of text, the correct file name is:

pc_OM_1234.pdf

3. Copy the correct file name.

4. Paste or add the correct file name onto the END of the existing URL address that is located in the browser bar at the top of the white page.

The existing URL should be something like this:

http://techno-fandom.org/~hobbit/cars/TIS/10/

Using the above examples of the correct file name and the existing URL, the new URL address you create should look like this:

http://techno-fandom.org/~hobbit/cars/TIS/10/pc_OM_1234.pdf

5. Click on the appropriate icon (which varies depending on your browser) to go to the new URL address you've created.

6. Download away.
