I happened to stop by the dealership this afternoon, knowing they had received two 2010s just yesterday. I wanted to see the Prius IV demo, so I asked a favorite sales rep, and he said "Let's go!" We got on the golf cart, tooled around the back, and we found . . . no demo! The Sales Manager had taken it on his day off.

BUT . . . We did find MY CAR! I guess it was delivered earlier today, and they had only just started the prep work on it. It is covered with dirt and grime, and it LOOKS GREAT!

We picked up the keys and tested out almost everything -- well, everything we could while in park, anyway. Then we drove it once around the back lot and parked it. I checked out a lot of things and then went back to work.

I'll have much more later, including GOOD pics and analysis.

For now, please accept this quick reaction of mine. Remember, my point of reference is my own 2007 Package #6.

Many things to become adjusted to. What struck me most? Here's my quick list:
    1. Fit and Finish look very good. The car had not yet been prepped, but the interior looked very sharp. The leather seems to be at least as good as my '07 if not better, and the rest of the car has a tighter and more solid feel.
    2. Front seats are immeasurably better!!
    3. The hatch area looks much wider and bigger.
    4. Back seat seems a bit shorter.
    5. Nav screen setup is nice, though resolution seems lower than my '07.
    6. The Touch Tracer did not seem to work well. Sometimes it just would not register my touch. If it becomes a real issue, I'll need to have it looked at.
    7. Headlight washers!! Too Cool!
    8. I like the glass - it seems a bit more tinted and that should help.
    9. Don't like the cupholder change.
    10. Can't hookup my iPhone or iPod to the Aux AND close the armrest all the way. This could become an issue.
    11. I LIKE the electric lumbar.
    12. Nice seat adjustments, though it doesn't seem to adjust JUST the way I want. (I'll need to read up on it.)
Well . . . 12 seems like a good enough list for now. I'll expand and prioritize the list later.

Did someone ask for pics? I didn't bring my camera, but I had my iPhone handy.

    Here we go.

It is dirty and unprepped, but it is a pretty darn good looking car.

Yes, that is Blue Ribbon Metallic.

I've never been sold on the "cockpit" look, but it isn't that bad. Many of the buttons around the Nav were a reach before, not they are "easy access" buttons.
    IMG_0115_1.jpg
You can't see the buttons for the heated seats, as those are down near the floor. That is FAR FROM ergonomic!

Steering wheel buttons look to be good. You can see the Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keep Assist buttons as well.

The 17" wheels look great, and the tires are VERY low profile:

I finally have an answer about the tires (at least for my car): Toyo Proxes A20s:

SWEET, I love the new look of the 2010 models. Enjoy your ride when you get it, and try to get some sleep while you are waiting to pick it up.

For the money you spent on that car, they could have at least put on Bridgestone or Michelin's! :)

Am I the first one to get a V w/ ATP? I hope to be able to say that!!

It is still sitting on the dealer's lot, and they don't plan to have it prepped and ready for pickup until next Tuesday.

I don't want to make too big of a deal about the delay, but in case you are wondering -- Yes, I would like to have the car now! If they told me I could pick it up right now, however, I'd beg off until tomorrow. I have to find out if I have a private sale -- otherwise I'll have a trade-in to reduce the sales taxes paid.

When I looked at the options, I was not impressed with the Michelin option (it was neither a Primacy nor an Energy +, but a Pilot). I thought the Bridgestones looked pretty good, but I had no idea about the Toyos. They have made some very good tires -- I'm just hoping this is one of them.

As far as I can tell, this tire was developed as the OEM tire for the Murano (in a 20" size, I believe).

It is an interesting look. I was not familiar with this feature.

If you order the iPod integration (available in September and can be dealer-installed) my understanding is that the connection will be in the glove compartment instead of the center console.

That may be, but in my 2007 I've been able to use the AUX to connect my iPhone via male-to-male connectors, and I've also been able to fully close the armrest!

You do see the area I'm talking about, right? That bit of the tyre that's next to the rim that sticks out and makes a "gap" between the tyre and the rim?

I know exactly what you mean now, but I'd never known about it before it saw these tires on the car.

This should be a nice "protective" measure for the wheels given the very low profile of these tires.
