    New owner here, only 1,000 miles on my car. I have read these posts on firewall access for earlier models, but even the service guy at Toyota wasn't much help directing me as to what has to come off to get to an available rubber grommet that a wire can be run through.

    Anyone have tips/instructions for a 2011 or are the the same as the 2010?
    Thanks in advance.

    Follow the Fog Light link in my sig and towards the end of the document there is instructions on the rubber gromment. If I were a betting person, I would say it is the same for the 2011 model.

    Thanks Spidy, but my 11 has a 6 or 8 clip plug on the engine side of the firewall, not a rubber flange with nipples. Can I ask how you got the schematic drawings from Toyota?

    Still stuck...:{

    Got it from someone who got it from somewhere. Many of these Toyota docs are available from their Tech website. So are free while others are pay-per-view.

    I still think there is grommet there. This weekend I am going to the dealer for the new model reveals... I will have to poke around inside of the 11. :)

    Went to Coos Bay Toyota New
    Owners appreciation dinner last night and talked to the Service Manager and a master tech. They made an appointment with me for today to install my Curb Alert. HooYa! It's in and works like a charm. For $300 total I will save a minimum of $600 in future damage to my front bumper air dam (which is only 7 inches off the ground and you can't see the front end of the car from behind the wheel at all). I'm a happy lady.

    Thanks again to :cheer2: Spider for your attempt at solving this dilemma.

    Thanks. Ah did they mention how they ran the wiring? Due to a snow storm last weekend I was unable to go to the dealers revealing an thus unable to check out the 11 engine bay.

    Hi OLynney,

    Can you advise where the sensor is mounted? Is it possible for you to send me a picture of the sensor mount location?
    I am very interested in a Curb Alert and would very much appreciate the picture. Thanks in advance; it would be greatly appreciated.

    Bill
