Just checked out the 2012 Prius Five with Advanced Technology Package. I gotta say that the ATP should have been opted like this from the beginning. The addition of power seats and HUD is more useful than parking assist. I don't know if anyone noticed but Toyota finally got the touch tracer's orientation right this time. The volume up and down is no longer on the left and right like the 2010, 2011. The track up and down is actually upper button and lower button. The temp buttons are also orientated up and down. The display on top and trip on bottom.

As someone who adjusted the seat only once, I'd say the power seat (whatever that means) isn't that big of a deal. I can think of a couple of features that would be more useful (AUTO on headlights and rain-sensing wipers). However, I agree HUD is more useful in terms of daily driving than parking assist.

Never had problems with the touch tracer's orientation. You can learn either orientation with practice.

Ohh yeah the 2012 will have auto on/off headlights and LED DRL for the Five. I personally prefer manually sliding the seats. It's faster. The rest can be powered.

Where did you find this information? This isn't mentioned in Danny's blurb.

Wondering what % of drivers with parking assist actually use it.

Does HUD include cabin temp reading?
I never use touch tracer to adjust temp since I have to look at the temp reading to begin with, or recirculate feature since I have to look down to see which setting it's on. Neat features, but mostly unused IME.

The HUD will have the speedo only or speedo + HSI. If you're under route guidance, it will display the next turn when the voice guidance prompts you.

The temperature and recirc is now displayed on the MID in the centre if any changes are made (a nod back to the Gen 2 Prius). So you can use Touch Tracer and the temp will appear in a large font in the MID.

LED DRL is standard on all models. Did you see any one of us at GDE?

The parking assist is worthless as far as I am concerned. I do use the LKA on occasions but I would not miss it very much. My previous car had auto on/off headlights but I never used them because I normally drive with my headlights on anyway.

HUD would be great, what information will be displayed?

    speedo or speed + HSI.

If you're under route guidance, it will display the directions of the upcoming turn as you approach the turn.

Are you sure about this ?
That would really be great !
It was the first thing i noticed when they introduced the Touch-Tracer 2009 in Detroit .
It made no sense to me having a system which is supposed to keep your eyes on the road, but when changing temperature you had to look down to the display anyway to see to what temperature you changed it to !
I hope the change of the system includes European Pris !

    The HUD is great !
It showes the Speed,Eco Bar and Nav-Info !
We never had LKA in Europe, well at least not in Germany, and never missed it !
If i had to decide between parking assist,LKA and power folding mirrors i would take the power folding mirrors because they are really usefull !
Thank god we are finally getting them in Europe in the 2012 !

Pretty sure. It was hard to miss the large "TEMP 78" font on the screen. When we changed the temperature or changed from fresh air to recirculate.
