I'm new to this Forum, so howdy everyone.

I'm seriously considering the 2012 Prius V but still cannot find any interior specifications on the record (Headroom, Legroom, Shoulderroom, Hiproom, etc.).

Does anyone have a URL or other place to find anything? The local dealers don't have a clue at this point.

Until the North American model is actually in production and a brochure or a white paper is sent to the dealers, any pre-production specs can be fuzzy, so the dealer wouldn't probably know much more then we do here. Also, I'll bet there isn't much motivation for a salesman to find such info unless they know you'll be buying one that very day. And they know not of this forum, I can tell you this much.

The only real info we have is in this very thread. Specs listed in the link in post #1.

Wow, not much room between the liftgate and the rear seat. Translates to not much storage and not alot of room for energy absorption in a rear-end collision.

Maybe the lack of energy absorption is why we're not getting the 7 seater here in the US.

would be cool if towing capacity were non-zero

Besides the 3rd rows of seats (yeah yeah, we're not getting it in the US), it would be cool if the towing capacity were increased from 0 to something like 1000 or 1500 lbs. Any idea if the towing capacity increase is happening?

I was talking to one of my non-hybrid owner friends w/2 kids (his wife wanted a Prius long ago) and they've thought about more efficient vehicles. I kept telling him it's a shame that we're not getting the 3rd row. He also mentioned towing capacity (which I informed him is 0 on the Prius). His towing needs are modest, just enough to tow a motorcycle and its trailer. I did recommend FEH for him.... I don't recall everything he has but AFAIK he has at least a Honda CR-V and a Nissan Xterra (which I know he's stated gets crappy mileage).

I saw the V in Minneapolis this past weekend and the car felt roomier then the regular version. The Toyota rep said that the rear seat was 2" wider and the interior door panels were shaped the give even more. They did curve way in so I believe him. The rear seats tracking 7" also makes the rear seating area feel like luxury. After the rear seat, the front felt a little cramped. It's a little odd getting out of the rear seat with it tracked all the way back. It's as though the door isn't placed right but I'm sure you get used to it.

I posted this in another thread, but probably belongs here more so. Just got this e-mail from a local dealer re: Prius v:

He told me they'd be getting models in Nov 1, but w/ no idea which one or with what accessories.

I think they should have found a way to put 3 door Smart Key at least on the v Three model. It is so darn convenient to just reach for the hatch and open, not have to fumble for key with groceries in hand. 2012 Prius Three will get 3 door SM.

Something to think about for mid-cycle refresh.

You can program the sks so that a grip on the driver's door handle will unlock all the doors at once, not as good as 3 door sks, but close.:)
