2013 Prius pricing is out and Toyota announced that beginning October 2012, the 2013 Prius base price is going up by $200 (again), the Prius v is going up by $100 on grades 2 and 3, and by $155 on grade 5, and the Prius Plug-in price remains unchanged.

The 2013 Prius also adds a "style-focused" Persona Series Special Editor model, complete with 17" alloy wheels, a unique Black Cherry Pearl color, "Persona Series" badging, red-stitched SofTex seats, and chrome interior touches. The Persona Series will also be available in Black and Blizzard Pearl. At $27,130, this special edition fits in between the Prius 3 and 4.

The 2013 Prius v adds a new exterior color, the chameleon-esque Seaglass Pearl. The 2013 model also fixes one of my gripes with the 2012 model by adding a SofTex steering wheel on the Prius v 5 (not to be confused as the Prius Five Five).

No changes for the 2013 Prius Plug-in in equipment or pricing.

The springs are going on this Sunday and the new EP422s should go on Thursday or Friday. :)

You should drive up and hangout with us while we install them!

Oh dear god! Your poor girlfriend!

All I'd be good for is holding the light and maybe supplying beer. What time are you guys doing the install? And are these the Lexus rims again?

That works for me. Would be good to have you. :)

I'm not sure. I'll talk with Mike and get back to you.

Yes, back to the Lexus wheels. I grew to like the look. :(

They are good looking rims. A coworker just got a Lexus CT200H, but opted for the shiny chrome version (F) of the wheels. I like the matte look much better.

Toyota needs to make in-country. I can only guess the Yen continues to hurt the sales price of these here.

those are pretty minimal changes in price though... a lot of times it is 1% or more.

It looks "OK", but I'm thinking it will look totally different on the Prius. :D

Ugh $200 increase for the 2013? What is added for the prius hb in 2013 anything? :(
btw why is the prius plug-in getting all the discount/benefits and not the regular prius? Plugin gets no price increase for 2013 and 0% apr?
I might think I might go for the plug-in even though I don't really have a way to charge it. ;)

The incentives on the plug-in are because sales haven't been as high as Toyota was hoping.

It may not be "as high as Toyota was hoping" but rather the masses do not want to buy them or many other similar vehicles because they do not meet their needs. Google CARB, Toyota and other manufacturers were forced to build and sell a certain amount according to CARB regulations.

If it was at Carb's behest, then why were their projected sales higher for Japan than the US?

The Rav4EV is a compliance car for Carb.
