Accelerated Composites LLC, a small startup company here, said it is developing the Aptera, a two-seat hybrid passenger car delivering 330 mpg at a steady 65 miles per hour — at a price under $20,000.

The company said the car, which may be ready for production in two years, will have acceleration and handling similar to that of the Honda Insight hybrid. The first Aptera prototype may be ready by March.

Ah yes. I remember hearing about this a while back. I hope they make them.
It'll be good for proof-of-concept though perhaps not as good for hauling the kids to the beach.

330 MPG @ 65mph, for under $20,000!? Yeah, and I bet it flys, and comes with a free jet pack.

I wonder if one can use that in a drive-by..

Somehow I can't see Nancy Botwin or U-Turn driving one of those, heh heh.
