A fully-loaded Prius will never be cost-effective in SC

in my area of CA (near San Jose) the sales tax is 8.25-8.5%, but my insurance, according to my agent will drop from what i was paying for a '97 taurus plus a '69 corvette, both of which together never got more than 5000 miles a year from me. let's see... that's about 150 gallons of gas a year in a Prius.... hmmmm.... gonna take me about 350 years to amortize that, eh?

but i'll be driving a Prius!
