I saw in my AAA Newsletter that AAA members get special discounts through select dealers. One dealer is a local Toyota dealer.
Has anyone bought a car this way...or tried?

I'm picking up a metallic blue III with Nav for 990 below MSRP tonight from a dealer that I got a quote from through the AAA Auto buying site. I don't know if the dealer would have normally given me that discount or if they are just because I was referred to them by AAA/Dealix (the site they use).

Dealix is used by other sites such as Overstock.com.

In my case it's an awesome deal since it's almost 1k below MSRP and it's on a Prius that entered the port before the 400 dollar price increase so it's almost like getting 1390 below MSRP.

    Hope that helps!

I am wondering if I should try Overstock.com or to just do what I've done in the past; that is to just send e-mails out to all the local dealers within a 1 hour drive and see who wants to deal.
It does seem that the New England area is a little more buyer-friendly than other parts of the country.
