It cost me ~$350 in parts and 2.5 hours labor to add a 2012 prius 2 bluetooth 6.1 touchscreen radio, microphone and backup camera to my 2011 prius 2. I used multiple used parts sources to get the parts at a reasonable cost (forum member, salvage yard and Ebay)

Just installed the Ottonavi Headunit with a backup camera today.
Ottonavi and camera were just under $600.
The camera wiring did not reach the HU so I had to zip into town for a RCA coupling and 3' cable.
Also had to trim the blanking plate to "surround" the camera.
I am a little anal so it took me nearly 8 hours to finish.

    All is working perfectly though.

My 2012 already pre-wire from hu to the hitch. I just need camera and 3ft wire(4wires), this all. But I heard one person who need to wire-up the driver kicker panel but I don't need.

    Ray,

Where in the hitch? Do you have a picture of the harness and the wire colors?

dumb question but has anyone thought of installing one for the front to help with heavy fog or snow? I've noticed that when backing up I can see much better in the rear cam in fog and snow that I can by just looking back.

Hi. Is there any options such as using a modified rearview mirror monitor? I would have like the trim 3 with nav and monitor but it was out of my price range. I although thought that having a small one on the mirror would be more convenient. I look up there anyway, even with the monitor on. I am not studying the surrounding for a place to land a mars probe after all. Just checking of kids trash cans and curbs. My main concerns are I don't want wires showing, and want it hardwired into the car, not plugged into the accessory plug. I don't really need the nav. My cellphone google maps are probably more up to date anyway.
    Thanks
    WW
