Do you know if there's any alternative to painting the caps? Those wheels would be a great option for me but I don't want the H logo nor would I want to paint the caps. If they would take some generic cap without a logo that would be fantastic.

I don't have the caps yet, they are on order. Honda PN 44732-S5T-A00. My other thoughts were to see if a Toyota Yaris center cap would fit or if an Enkei cap would fit since the wheels are manufactured by Enkei.

Take a careful measurement of the caps when you get them. There are "stick on" Toyota emblems you can use to cover the H caps with on Ebay.

anyone know if the bolt pattern for the C is the same as the Gen 2 Prius hatchback? I've standard oem 15" alloys with snow tires I'd like to use on a "future" C if they would be the same ...thanks!

    thanks.

    so answer is no.

    Prius C is 4 bolt...my 2004 Prius hatch is 5 bolt.

But the snow tires will work (185/65/R15) on either car's rims.

Sorry for the delay in responding. These were Scion OEM wheels, and I did have them install the pressure monitors on them.

An update on my post. I had the wheels mounted today.

Wheel Brand Honda (made by Enkei)
    Wheel Model Insight stock alloy
Wheel Weight 17.5 lbs measured, this is heavier than reported on the Web
    Size 15 x 5.5
    Offset 45MM
    Tire Size STOCK
    Tire Pressure Monitors YES
Difference felt in ride quality TBD
Price Paid $700 for the wheels
Fitment Issues To make the Honda wheels fit I used 56.1 to 54.1 hub centric rings from Hub Rings / Spigot rings for wheels 4,75 and ball seat style lug nuts made for Honda wheels. Toyota and aftermarket cone style lug nuts will not work.

I used a vinyl decal to cover up the Honda Logo on the center caps. Purchased the decals off of Ebay from Vistadesigns. The Honda centercaps are slightly domed so a flexible decal is needed. 56mm diameter would be the perfect decal size. The ones I used are 54mm so there is a small gap between the decal and the outside edge of the center cap.

These look great but I'm disappointed with the weight. They were reported to weigh 14 lbs but at 17.5 lbs they are heavier than the stock steel wheels.

The insight wheels look great! That blows about their weight, though. How much more do they weigh than stock?

Using the same digital bathroom scale the stock wheels were 16 lbs and the Insight alloys 17.5 lbs. Not a huge difference but I was expecting them to be lighter.

The alloy wheels are stiffer though. I drove the car around this evening and it corners better even with the same tires.

I've never really felt the difference in stiffness between two similar wheels of the same size. Did you observe the difference using the same air pressure in the same ambient temperatures?

I like this wheel made by drag model 33, it is about 14 lbs. I would keep the 15 inch tire because i am cheap. But the plus size looks cool. I like the red pinstripe to go with my red car.

I believe the difference he is feeling is due to the slight increase in wheel width, from 5 to 5.5. The 6.5 wheel width I changed to made a significant difference over the stock steel wheels.

I got these for my 2008 at Discount Tire. Perfect fit and they are actually a little bit lighter than the factory steel wheels. Tire size 185/65/15

As soon as I bought my Prius C, I began my search for some better looking wheels.

I wanted to keep as close to the original size as possible. Here's what I came up with: Ford ZX2 rims from 2003. They are 15x5.5 offset 45 and center hub 54.1.
These are available refurbished for about $120 each. The TPMS fit just fine. I reworked the center caps so they are just plain silver now.

I just finished a 1600 mile trip with these and no problems. They are 5 spoke, machined face. You can find them on the web or ebay. A nice solution for me with a total cost, mounted, of about $650.

I only had 400 miles on the original rims, so I don't think I can make any comparisons there. However, I cannot see why there would be any change --- same tires, same wheel weight (approx.), etc.

I just wrote up my mileage observations on the 1600 mile trip. See my post in the section on fuel economy.
