    I'm not sure I'd call it "hybrid" technology but it seems to be an exciting new development in boating.

    Great idea. 5 MPH cruising speed is a bit of a problem, since wave action can exceed the speed of the vessel, making it difficult to maintain forward progress. It looks nice, though. It can be seen at:

    I like the Popular Mechanics idea of putting wind sails onto current-day cargo and container ships. The current-day ships will still be fueled by diesel, but the wind sails will help reduce the amount of fuel (which could be significant annually for the entire globe).
