At least they finally put the gauges back in front of the driver. I've never liked the center IP in any car.

    Interesting...

    1. One wiper eh?? Didn't notice it before but in the two pictures above, yeah I see that it only has one wiper.

    2. You can definitely see Akio's influence. Every new Toyota now has a flattened-off base for the steering wheel?

    3. The 1.5 litre is a carryover? The numbers look the same

    4. Brand new 4-spd automatic that's lighter and compact in design. Didn't realise they still designed new 4-spds. However, I am willing to give Toyota the benefit of the doubt because they managed to get ridiculous fuel economy on the Corolla with a 4-spd while the 5-spd Civic couldn't beat it in the city mileage. Granted, a 5th gear may allow it to reach the all-important 40mpg on the highway BUT I would like to see if Toyota has made improvements in the city mileage with its lighter transmission

    5. Isn't the airbag count kinda misleading? The Honda salesperson did the same when I looked at the new 2006 Civic. He told me it had 8 airbags because he split the side curtain airbags into front and rear. Most, if not all cars have the side airbags as a one piece bag stretching from front to rear.

    6. Lastly, the Yaris is a hatchback, not a liftback. See Saab 900 (or mid 90s Euro-spec Corolla liftback) if you want to know what a liftback is. Hint: A Prius is one.

Reminds me too much of a Versa. I prefer the Fiesta styling...but that is kinda obvious since we have one.

:) One good thing about the Yaris is it seems to exceed EPA much like our Ford does...too many mfrs. over promise and under deliver in this aspect.
