I have a 2010 Prius II. I was sitting in my house, when I heard the blare of an alarm or horn. I ran out to the Prius -- and as soon as i opened the garage door, the noise stopped. Why did this loud beeping occur - it was really loud!

Was a window down on the car? Maybe someone tried opening a door by reaching in.

Was your fob in your pocket? The panic button may have gotten pressed and you didn't realize it.

I had the samething happen to me, but I carry the car fob in my left pocket with a fairly large Winchester pocket knife. What I figured happened was that moving around while sleeping in my recliner I must have caused the knife to press the alarm on my fob?

The funny part is like you as soon as I opened the door into the garage it went silent, don't think I pressed it to make it stop but am not sure.

Don't know for sure just that it could have happened.

Thanks! The same thing happened again. I was well out of fob range. Maybe the problem was that I had my spare remote in the glove compartment. I've since moved it.

Keeping the spare remote in the car is a sure way to run the remote battery down, not to mention making it easy to steal the car.

I had my 2004 Prius for over 5 years. During the last month or two (before I got my 2010 Prius), the alarm started going off. I always keep the fob in my pants pocket. I decided that I must have gotten into some positiion lying on the couch (watching TV) where something in my pocket pressed the panic alarm button. I don't know why it never happened before, but it happened twice in the last few months.
