Does anyone know a way to get the passenger "airbag on" light to shut off when there is a passenger in the seat? My coworker with a Gen II says that his shuts off after about 10 minutes, but it just stays on in my Gen III. I find it to be overkill, since I never turn the airbag off. They should have made it only have an "airbag off" warning light, and put it in the regular display with the rest of the warnings.

By the way, it's my first Prius and I love it!

    My fix.

Black electrical tape. Pair of scissors. Cut a small rectangle the same size as the Airbag On light. Apply to that area.

    Done.

Shoot it out with a small caliber pistol (.22 should be sufficient). Please don't do this in an urban area as discharging a firearm in most urban areas may be considered dangerous (and somewhat illegal). Note that if you are in east L.A. or in Northern California -- specifically East Palo Alto or Oakland; disregard the urban area comment.

Personally, I'd just stick a piece of used chewing gum over the light.

    Good Luck,

    Keith
