Artificial engine noise

    Had just recently traded my 2012 prius c for a 2014 prius lift back 3. I noticed on my prius c that I could hear that weird jetson sound coming from under the hood at low low speeds but I don't hear any artificial engine noise from my new 2014 lift back at low speeds. Is that sound only on the c? Just wondering.

    The "Proximity Alert System" exists in 2014 "regular" Prius.

    It exists in mine. -2013

    I can't hear it, unless I'm driving through a drive-thru, with the windows rolled down.

    Try driving somewhere quiet, with your windows rolled down, you should hear it.
