What are you doing about your alignments?

Get an alignment check after 2500 miles to make sure the springs have settled.
Most places will do a free check. Best case, nothing is out of spec.

Do people do this in the US after they buy a new car?

Never heard of it being necessary here.

They are referring to doing an alignment after modifying the cars ride height (lowering). This has the effect of changing the suspension geometry which requires an alignment to get the car back into specification afterwards.

So not settling in new springs then? I had assumed that the alignment was adjusted because of the geometry change as part of the process.

What about camber? Is it adjustable from the factory? No kit required?

As far as I know, no, but I haven't noticed any shift in camber.
Toe in is generally what needs to be addressed after lowering.
