MSNBC has an article today on how the auto industry is being broken into 2 camps over hybrids: Toyota, Honda and Ford for, GM, DaimlerChrysler and Nissan against.

Not much new info, though it's interesting to see it getting discussed in the business trades. One of the Nissan execs mentions that car companies don't make any money off of hybrids.

One also gets the impression from the article that Ford is the leader in hybrid technology, as opposed to the lead adapter.

Sounds like a load of crap to me. Some of the things mentioned in the article aren't even true.

For instance, in 2007 Nissan will introduce the all new Hybrid Altima... Which uses the Prius HSD. If Hybrids weren't profitable, why would Nissan bother?

AKA Toyota, Honda, and Ford have, GM, DaimlerChrysler, and Nissan have-not.

    Sour grapes.
