This mirror is awesome. Has anyone installed one in their Prius?
Did you do it yourself? I don't think I would attempt an install.

The mirror is a nice, you are right. But the rearview mirror is a part of car safety equipments and has to be and is regulated by the law (minimally in EU). It is has to obtain the EU certification.

For me, personally, I prefer the GPS on the dashboard because it feels like I can look at it without taking my eyes off the road. When I look at the rear view mirror, my eyes are not facing forward enough.

We have retrofitted this on a number of customers' vehicles here with Nissan and people have been very happy with them.

Looking at the Azentek website, this APPEARS to be an awesome product.

HOWEVER...the GPS system is Navigon's Mobile Navigator 6.5.

You do realize that Navigon has abandoned the US GPS market, don't you (except for the iPhone app)? That means that NO software or mapping updates will be available for your GPS. Which also means that in the course of 5-8 years (the life of your Prius), your mapping software will be woefully out of date.

    Good luck with that.

PS I have the Navigon iPhone app, which I DO use. The graphics are outstanding, I love the lane assist, but I hate the loss of a GPS signal around downtown Chicago and occasionally in other places. I was hoping this would replace my Garmin Nuvi dashboard model, but so far it hasn't....at least not reliably enough to do so.

You don't seem to realize that Navigon acquired NavTeq, a map company.
Navigon is "smart" because they don't see the business model of a portable GPS unit to survive in the long run. Therefore, they want to control the core competency, the map!!!

All well and good...but there still will not be ANY updates to Navigon GPS products in the US...no software updates...no map updates.

So, IMO, that makes the Navigon GPS rather useless in the long run.

It's like buying an 8 track player...yeah, sure it works, but what are you going to play IN the 8 track player.
