    Yes, he accepted 165 for the seats. At that price, I'm going to give it a shot. I'll keep you posted, but would like any advice you'll may have......

    Read the installations, take your time, I would think getting the leather warm so it is soft and pliable would be in order. Maybe placing in warm sun and keep an eye on it. Once you are at the easy working temp, start at top, slowly work our way down and catch the wrinkles before they get out of control.

    I have enquired whether these will work on a 2004 or 2005 and was told they will not. Seems like a bargain and the guy has a pile of them as in over 120 sets. I think this is a bargain at $165 and he has taken $165 twice now. One person paid $200.
    I wish it would fit a 2004, my tough luck I guess.

    Great price. And looking at the diagram/drawing, it has more leather panels than other leather covers including, I think, the OEM leather, which tend to use leather only in the center panels of the seat bottoms and seat backs.

    With the exception of one PriusChatter, I've always heard that this is an installation job best left to professional auto upholsterers. E.g., prius2go successfully reupholstered his seats with leather by himself, yet he still issued this strong warning and installation advice to others:

    I think I am going for this.... I want to try dark gray leather in my tan interior. Has anyone done this? Any advice against it?

    BTW, I already have the handrests and center console with dark gray / black leather already. They contrast with the tan interior quite nice. I am not sure how it will come out if the entire seat are dark gray.

    The 2nd offer for $165 was me... :)
    I had no idea how complicated the installation was until I saw Boo's reply...
    I've called an installer who was recommanded by the Bartlett Corp. but she wants $1025.00... I then told her that I can supply my own leathers... she said she has to ask her boss and call me back... I don't think she is going to call me back.... :(
    Does anyone know any other installers in Philadelphia, PA area?

    Mine shipped today. We'll go through this together! :D

    Seems that these are used for port installations for Toyota Southeast.... at least that is what I picked up on the World wide web...... :p

    At 200 bucks shipped, why not give this a shot yourself. Something to do for an entire Friday.... and Saturday.... and maybe Sunday.... Right?

    Bought it! $165 offer got accepted immediately. I am kicking myself for not trying $155. :D.

    I pulled the trigger because every parts that you can touch are leather. Only sides are Vinyl. Thanks, sl7vk for the tip.

    Hi jeteyenite,

    I'm sorry, I didn't mean to unduly scare everyone away from doing it themselves. Just passing along what I've been told and thought was the prevailing wisdom.

    There are contrary views and PriusChatters who have reupholstered car seats by themselves and thought it was a doable DIY project.

    For instance sorka has reupholstered at least two of his cars with leather by himself.

    And Tuck seemed to have an easy time reupholstering his Prius with new cloth covers and thought that most people could do it:

    Dark Gray. I can't stand the completely vanilla bisque interior. I think Dark Gray will come out good. We'll see...

    How do you "make an offer" on an eBay "buy It Now" listing? Do you just send the seller an e-mail with the offer?

    I should also jump on this. My '06 has decent cloth, but I prefer leather. I'm curious how dark the "dark gray" is. We need pics! :photo:
